Ecological and Wildlife Training
This wildlife and ecology skills-based introductory course takes place in the biodiverse Greater Kruger Region of Limpopo Province, South Africa. The course is a great fit for students who want a broad overview of wildlife conservation in Southern Africa. This is a rugged bush school where you will get the opportunity to go on educational game drives, bush walks and sleep-outs, and learn in a lecture environment.
You will learn about topics related to survival, tracking, mammal and bird identification and behavior, poaching and illegal wildlife trafficking, and more. Once accepted, students will join the SFW team in groups of 5-10 for included curriculum, training, equipment, accommodation, meals, and transport. Students must bring their own torch/headlamp, hiking boots, sandals, hat, sunscreen, neutral colored clothing, a warm fleece jacket, binoculars and a sleeping bag. Courses are customizable depending on your skills and prior experience, but no prior experience is required.
